Getting to Molco Alpina

Up the volcano’s slopes on the road to Huincacara. From Ruta 199 in Molco, on the lakeshore, it’s about 6.5 km and roughly 12 minutes to the cabin. Villarrica and Pucón are about 25 minutes away.

Gravel with potholes

Rain leaves puddles, and inside the community there’s one you have to drive through. Any car gets there if you take it slowly; a high-clearance vehicle is ideal. Very low cars may have trouble.

Summer

Avoid the lakeshore traffic

If Ruta 199 is congested, take the Segunda Faja: it’s paved and has volcano views. It has no street lighting at night and some stretches lose phone signal.

The nearest supermarket, pharmacy and cafés are about 6 km away, on the lakeshore.
